Be Unique and Real In Your Social Media!

Free to be YOU and Free to be ME!

Platforms like Instagram are getting back to being REAL and allowing YOU to be UNIQUE too! Are you an Instagrammer? Have you received lots of “love it”, “cool!”, “come visit my profile”, or emojis of thumbs up or love/hearts? Have you wondered if they are REAL? They probably were not. Notice, I said “were” but this might be in most cases. Recently, I’ve learned that there was a tool that automated the LIKING/hearting of posts and commenting on people’s posts this way, then likewise, UNliking the accounts or posts if certain criteria weren’t met. This seems to have let up considerably lately! Yay!! In the past, I’ve often commented a reply to them, specific reply, so that they would be forced to be “human” and answer – and of course, nothing. Are you getting these types of responses?

BE REAL!

My “philosophy” is be REAL, genuine, and YOU on your social media! And guess what? This is FREE! You don’t have to buy a tool to create “fake” responses! We ALL are pretty tired of FAKE (i.e. FAKE news, eh-hem!) Often we can spot it a mile away too! The image on the right, which comments look REAL and which look FAKE or automated?

I just spoke to two potential clients this week about being REAL and being accessible to their customers via – social media. Your marketing is a mixture of personal interaction, whether if in meeting them in person at a networking meeting, in your store or office, or online! You can’t be personal or REAL in your responses via your website, or through a newsletter (this touches upon it only but builds up from your social media work or takes them TO your SOCIAL MEDIA presence!). But only through reaching out to your IDEAL customers through social media can you actually become REAL – especially if you have long distance customers (meaning beyond LOCAL) and they can’t visit you in person.

Video – a Great Option To Be Personal

Today’s social media is showing more and more video. This is a good thing! This is your chance! Create a video of YOU and talk to your customer(s) as if they are there in front of you and you will make a huge difference in your reach and ENGAGEMENT  within your social platform! You can’t be afraid of video! No need to be perfect and “professional” looking either! Just feel FREE to BE YOU. Your audience Unique MEappreciates your efforts to REAL because this aids in the TRUST factor, which is needed for the BUY results. This allows ME to be ME too. This way, you learn more about what my wants and desires are and maybe YOU can solve my problem! Do this and you will have a loyal customer.

To add to your individualism, share with your audience what makes you DIFFERENT or UNIQUE when compared to others like you. In other words, what is your UNIQUE selling point or proposition, or your USP?  Answer, “Why should I buy from you?” and you will have the sale. Maybe what is unique about you is  your personality. Show it! Maybe your USP is the speed of service, or the variety of product choices – share that! People deserve knowing this to make the best decision for them – not you. Be their advocate!

Time to Let Your Light Shine

Don’t be afraid to “toot your horn” if you have achieved those great results they are looking for! You’ve done it! Say so! If you haven’t done so, YET, then boast about the people who are “coaching/training” you do be the best! Let their reputation rub off on you, so you will gain your customer’s trust. Again, it is OK for it to not be all about you.
