Network Marketing Branding

ARE YOU MARKETING LIKE A

BUSINESS OR A HOBBY?

Attention Network Marketing businesses!

Today there are many, many choices of independent network marketing or direct sales businesses that one can become a representative of. Each can be a source of additional income, where one can become an Independent Business Owner! If you are one, are you treating your business AS A BUSINESS? Are you doing what other small business owners are doing for their marketing? Or are you acting like most network marketing people?

What are “real” (yes, I know network marketing can be a REAL business too) small businesses doing? – branding themselves. How? – with logos, color, websites, with THEIR OWN personality and culture! Ok, you are a small business, a “network marketing” business and you think of yourself as very small.  Don’t. You are only starting out…not small. You are GROWING…not small! You deserve to be…like any larger business! So, how to become like them? Do like they do!

Getting down to business – do what the “big guys” do.

First of all, this goes for all Network Marketing/direct sales businesses – don’t LIKE other people’s pages that are doing the same product brand or service brand as you! Why? The potential customer will not know the difference in whose businesses is LIKING or commenting! Chances are good that they will believe they are talking to the page business owner and naturally go with the OWNER of the social sight! Don’t expect that you will gain business THERE! Instead, brand yourself! Have a bigger voice on YOUR social media – and brand YOU, not your product/service.

Build your Facebook page, and other social media accounts as you, under your name. You never know when you may change from one company that provides you your products to another, and if your social media is about THEIR product/service name and not you, consequently, you’ve lost your audience!! You won’t be able to bring those same number of fans over to your NEW business social site! It would be better to be YOU as a business, and promoting your choice of products/services as you grow, which you probably will if you are serious in being in business. AND you get to keep the fans you’ve gained because they are following YOU! Because, you’ve “branded” yourself well!

Here are some other pointers for your social marketing –

  • Invite from your own social media platform to join you on your page,  and share your valuable content there with them!
  • Be informative when commenting on another similar network marketing consultant site’s posts. Most important though, no self promotion!
  • Create a visual brand on you as a business (if on Facebook comment as your Page) – where you won’t have to say a thing but be recognized as the person/brand naturally by the link of your name, that has answers to their problem. That audience reader might click it and follow you on your business page!
  • Create a persona that expresses your personal taste, passion, attitude and spin on topics. This is what makes you unique. Not a “company’s rep” – like so many other people who DON’T do what you should be doing.
  • Share YOUR social stuff – that means you need to create something “unique” and not someone else’s. Use a blog. Create images that are YOURS (take with YOUR smartphone/camera) or design them in Canva or PicMonkey. You can utilize your BRAND company’s images, but that isn’t you! Do more of YOU – and be creative about it!
  • Color – choose a color that exemplifies the mood of your business. Be sure to see my blog for more tips on branding YOU with color go to: How to Use the Psychology of Color to Grab Your  Audience’s Attention!

Social Focus’s Color Branding

  • Font – fonts communicate a feeling into your website or written communication.
  • Icon – there might be a great example image that can represent you. I use the Chinese Warrior, as seen here to the right. In real life, these TerraCutta Warriors, are many in a field but I show an image of where ONE stands out. That is my motto! “Standing out in the crowd!”
  • Social Focus by CG
  • Chinese TerraCutta Warrior – Icon
  • Logo – a design that is more characteristic than just –  www.companyxyz.com – on emails, business cards, and images!
  • YOU – your photo of you should be unique and easily recognizable in a glance.

Finally, provide valuable content any time you post! YOU are the personal consultant/business owner that solves their problem! YOU serve their needs, answers their questions, and brings them new information on the topics that interest them! Don’t be a “text book” but be real, and caring. Again, be YOU!

Yes, you want to “stand out from the crowd” (ha! My motto)! In order to do that you have to do the work that gets your target audience to “vote” for you or buy from you. Gain their trust, serve that trust, and give more than you ever GET ($$) and you WILL succeed.
